| Located on the VCU campus, the 147,000 S.F. facility provides 27,000 S.F. of research and teaching laboratories, classrooms, offices, and 7,500 S.F. of Class 1000 cleanroom space for the fabrication of microelectronic chips, biochips, and micro-electromechanical systems. Design work included mechanical and electrical systems, and building and laboratory control systems. The chilled water plant has 2 – 500 Ton, and 1 – 200 Ton chillers, with two uniquely located roof top cooling towers. The system design included a performance analysis to determine tower operational parameters when located under a vented architectural pyramid. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
